How To Lose Stubborn Belly Fat Fast

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

By Denny Waldarmo You’ve been trying for years to rid yourself of that spare tire around your middle. Perhaps you’ve given up. This article offers 5 ways to help you lose tummy fat fast, and lose it once and for all. The secret to using these methods to lose belly fat quickly is to combine them. When you do, you create a fearsome 5-barreled weapon with which to attack your fat. In effect, you’re ganging up on your fat and letting it know you don’t intend to play nice any longer. You will accept nothing less than total surrender! Here, then, are the 5 components of your new super weapon, the fastest way to lose belly fat that I know of, aside from expensive (and potentially risky) liposuction treatments. 1. A low-carb or balanced-carb diet. If you are overweight, make it your goal to reduce your overall body fat. Although experts argue about the best diet for losing weight, the various low-carb approaches seem to work for the majority of people. A low-carb diet will let you see quick results, which is important for staying motivated. But for long-lasting results I urge you to adopt a “balanced-carb” diet. A balanced-carb diet–or more properly, a balanced-nutrients diet–recognizes that we all differ in our genetic heritages, metabolisms and food preferences. Our nutritional needs therefore differ, too. The weight-loss plans that get my top recommendation are the ones that teach you how to tailor a diet to your very specific requirements. Some excellent ones are even downloadable from the Web. 2. Cardio exercise. To really take off fat you need to make regular workouts a part of your life. This means exercise that works up a sweat and gets your heat pumping. No need to kill yourself doing it, though. If you have access to a gym, 15 minutes on a stairstep machine or 25 minutes on a treadmill, three times a week, will give tremendous benefits. Combined with the other components of our 5-pronged super-weapon to get rid of belly fat, the results will amaze you. Can’t get to a gym? Take brisk–and I mean really brisk–walks as often as you can get outdoors. Aim for walking at least a mile every time. Short stretches of jogging, to get the heart rate up, are also fine. But I’m not an advocate of running for most people–there’s too much risk of knee damage and other serious consequences. 3. Abdominal crunches. There’s no such thing as spot reduction of fat, short of medical intervention of some kind. Therefore, strictly speaking, you cannot exercise to lose belly fat. But there are spot exercises for strengthening and defining muscles, including the abdominals or “abs.” Performing ab crunches at the same time that you are shedding body fat through dieting and cardio is a one-two punch for acquiring a slimmer, trim looking waist in the quickest time. You must do the crunches correctly, though! Herewith the basic instructions: First, lie on your back on an exercise mat or carpeted floor. Bend your knees so your feet are flat on the exercise surface and as wide apart as the width of your hips. Now, place your hands behind your head, interlacing the fingers. Tuck your thumbs behind your ears for added support. To perform one crunch, curl forward and up, lifting your head, neck and shoulder blades off the mat. Pause for a moment or two, squeezing your abdominal muscles as you do. Then, slowly lower your head, neck and shoulder blades back to the floor and the position you started in. Very important: On the “lift-off” part of the crunch, avoid using your hands to pull your head forward. Using your hands for a boost will cheat your abdominals of their workout and negate most of the benefits of this exercise. If you find you can’t keep from puling your head forward with your hands, try doing crunches with your arms at your sides. Be sure to keep your feet in the same postion and your back straight throughout the entire crunch. Do 10 crunches in a row, rest for 30 seconds, then do 10 more. Continue in this way until you can’t do any more. 4. A “forbidden” Tibetan exercise. Lie flat on an exercise mat or carpeted floor, arms along your sides, palms down. Raise your head off the floor and tuck your chin against your chest. At the same time, lift your legs straight up off the mat to a vertical position, without bending the knees. When performed correctly, at the top of the movement your legs will be straight up, perpendicular to the floor, or even extended back over your body toward your head a bit. Just be sure to keep them straight (no bending the knees)! Now, slowly lower both your legs and your head back to the mat. Relax your body, then repeat the exercise. Work up to doing a set of 21 repetitions every day. This simple exercise is one of five supposedly secret Tibetan “rites” said to be able to turn back the aging clock and make a person look up to twenty years younger if performed diligently over a period of time (at least several months). All of the “Five Tibetans,” as the rites are often called, are claimed to work by speeding up energy vortexes in the body. The one I chose to describe here would seem to have a specific effect on the abdominal region as well. One book on the Tibetan rites contains testimonials saying, among other benefits, that the exercises helped people lose abdominal flab. One woman reported trying on her sister’s dress to find that “it was so tight it looked terrible on me,” but after just 10 days of doing the Tibetan rites, “I tried it on again, and it fit beautifully.” She found it amazing that her body shape had improved so much in such a short time. Don’t dismiss this little exercise because it sounds too simple, or because the story behind it will strike some as a little kooky. Just try it and see if it helps you to lose stomach fat. 5. A magic pill DHEA is an amazing substance being hailed for all sorts of miracle effects, from slowing the aging process to reviving flagging libidos. It is produced naturally in our bodies but the levels drop off considerably as we age. Some scientific studies have shown that taking DHEA as a dietary supplement can help shrink belly fat, too. The good news is, DHEA is widely available over the counter and is relatively inexpensive. Be aware, though, that DHEA is a powerful “prohormone”–a substance that triggers the production of other hormones in the body. You should take it only in consultation with your doctor. More research is needed, but DHEA may offer the easiest way yet to lose belly fat. If you decide to try it (again, only with your doctor’s concurrence), I nevertheless urge you to do so in conjunction with exercise and dieting as recommended above. There you have it, your five-barreled weapon to help you lose gut fat. Your success is now up to you. Denny Waldarmo is a fitness coach who writes on exercise and diet topics. By Jennifer Houck We Moms love to keep our kids busy doing different activities so we will not hear “I am bored Mom.” “What can I do?” What better way to keep them busy than with Free Games and Free Crafts. Moms are always on a budget, so this makes mommy happy and kids happy. Outdoor games are also a real treat in a child’s eyes. Do you remember the yesteryears when we were always outside playing outdoor games such as Red Rover, Dodge Ball, Bean Bag Toss, Tater Sack Race. These are all great outdoor games and children today still love these unique games. Take time out on a sunny afternoon and play one of the yesteryear games which will not only make new memories in the childrens lives, but bring back some too. Children crafts were another way mentioned above too keep children busy. Allow this to cool, and cover with a damp cloth until ready to use. Coloring may be added before cooking or when molded; let dry, then paint with water color. –HOW TO CARE FOR CLAY:– Clay can always be broken up, dampened, and used again - even afterit has been painted. When it has been used, but has not been allowed to become hard, poke holes in the clay with your finger or with a pencil, fill these with water (to restore the original dampness) and place in an airtight crock or in a galvanized pail with a tight cover. A damp cloth placed over the clay will help to keep it moist until the next time. Chocolate Finger Paint 1 (4oz.) pkg. Instant Chocolate Pudding and Pie Filling 2c. Cold Milk. Does Your Business Appeal To $227 Billion Of ‘Lohas’ (Green) Consumers?

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

By Jaya Schillinger Are you wondering what LOHAS stands for? Don’t feel bad if you aren’t familiar with it yet. If you’re living in the SF Bay Area, you understand it more than you may know. LOHAS is a convenient marketing buzzword that stands for Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability. Simply put, it refers to the $227 billion dollar consumer market of people who want more consciousness in their day-to-day lives and are spending their money accordingly. This large subculture is detailed in the book, The Cultural Creatives by Paul Ray and Sherry Ruth Anderson. If you’re actively building a business in the alternative health, spa, or personal development fields, you’re probably in this demographic yourself, but either way, chances are good that a hefty percentage of your income comes from LOHAS consumers. This is not just a trend, but a massive change in the way that we all do business. The LOHAS Journal first coined the phrase, and attributes 5 key values to this group of people:Sustainable Economy Healthy Living Alternative Healthcare Personal Development Ecological Lifestyles In my opinion, the most important aspect of conducting business in this new marketplace is authenticity. People are so burnt out on hype and manipulation. The old-style marketing machine is still grinding away, but LOHAS consumers are demanding change. When more conscious consumers become conscious business owners, capitalism as we know it will change. If you’re already a business owner that has an inspired vision and wants to make a difference, this is your time! The new economy is much more about quality instead of “empty quantity”. By bringing more of your authentic values and passion into your work, you will not only feel more fulfilled, but you will be on the leading edge of this new age of conscious commerce. Whether you’ve been in business for awhile or are just starting out, it’s a good idea to reevaluate your practices to see if they fit with your values, especially as your business grows and changes:Are you performing services the way you want to serve, or simply like you were trained? Does your work environment inspire you to be creative? Are you still procrastinating on making time for eating right and working out, even though you’re in a health business yourself? Would it really be that inconvenient to start recycling your office paper? By making even small changes in the way your business runs, so that everything you do is aligned with your values, you’ll feel happier and healthier at work. Show your customers that you care about them and the environment, and they will also feel great about your work. Mahatma Gandhi said, “You must be the change you want to see in the world”. That’s exactly what you need to do to create a successful business within the LOHAS community. 10 Ways to Turn Off the LOHAS “Conscious Consumer”Using synthetic perfumes & detergents in your products or services Wasting paper by sending multi-page offers by mail Double-bagging or using too much packing materials Playing music with harsh language or aggressive beats Getting annoyed when they ask about ingredients Tell them what to do, instead of asking them what they want Rushing them to a close or not being willing to discuss their needs Not being willing to send them elsewhere, if they ask for a referral Outsourcing employment to socially irresponsible or unjust countries Marketing your products/services as “natural,” when they aren’t. Marriage Proposals - How to Screw It Up

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

By Barry Davis There are a million ways to make a marriage proposal go smoothly. Each person is unique and what pleases one may not please another, so we are left with a vast amount of choices. However, there are a few things that you should not do which is a much shorter list. I will review these things so you do not find yourself in hot water, or worse - not engaged! We have all seen the movies where the man comes running into the train station and catches his girl just before she gets on board. The train is being held up, there is a huge crowd of people surrounding them, everyone is peering out the windows. Then he confesses his love for her and proposes to her at the train station. Before you get those tears streaming down your face realize that this also can cause embarassment. If she has not told you that she wants a public proposal then do not do it. Instead, sit down with her and make it an intimate, romantic night or event. Most women are going to want that special moment and you only have one shot at it, so do not screw it up. When eating at that nice restaurant, do not place the ring in the food. You have no idea how many times people eat things without really looking at them. After all, when is the last time you inspected your burger before each bite? she can chip her teeth or even worse, swallow the ring. I do not know about you, but I think getting that ring back is going to be a pain in the butt. The ballgame may seem great to have your picture up on the megatron, but again, this is a public place. Having you and her on the big screen for all sports fans to see draws alot of attention. If she has not mentioned anything like this before, then you should steer clear. Avoid proposing at family gatherings. Seriously, unless you know all of the family members there, the intoxication levels are extremely low, and she is very open and close with each family member there, then do not do it. That is a large amount of pressure to drop on her in front of her family, especially if she is not ready to say yes. Make sure the both of you are ready to take the next step. Everything is bunnies and butterflies during the first few months of a relationship. If you give her a marriage proposal too early the both of you could end up in a very awkward situation down the road. You have your entire life to be together, there is no need to rush things. If you think she will not be around in a few months to ask her, then you should not ask her anyway. This is a surprise right? Well then do not expect her to just throw the ring on her finger, jump for joy, and say yes right away. Think about what you are asking her. You want her to commit herself to you for the rest of her life. That is a bit more serious than asking to borrow a few CD’s. If she does not say yes, but does not say no, then you are still on a good path. If she needs time, give it to her. The last thing you want to do is pressure someone into saying yes. Please, for your own sake, really consider the above information. I tell my audience all the time that you only have one real chance at this. If you blow it on the marriage proposal, you cannot take it back. This moment is all about her, so always keep her in mine when you are planning how to propose. Long Range Cordless Phones

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Peter_Emerson]Peter Emerson Phones have become a center point of communication for business and homes. They are most convenient and efficient modes of two-way communication. Their importance has been recognized by all groups of businesses as an economical mode of communication. Sales and marketing industry has specifically realized the importance of telephone as a means of communication to rope in new business. It allows companies to connect with prospective clients all over the world in a direct manner. Phones have evolved a long way from being a large and stationary piece of equipment to a sleek and handy gadget. They are lightweight and multi functional instruments, which can be easily purchased from a local store. Cordless phones are one of the latest additions to the already existing range of phones. They function on the principle of radio waves. Base/handset communication is via radio waves that are used to transmit and receive information. Efficiency, sound quality and range of cordless phones are dependent on their frequency range. Frequencies are better defined as strength of the signal transmitted and it directly affects the range in which they work. Initially cordless phones worked within a frequency of 47 Mhz. These phones operated in the range of 30 feet, beyond which sound was unclear and distorted. Subsequently, cordless phones working up to a range of 900 Mhz were manufactured. Frequencies of these phones were strong and hence functioned flawlessly upto a range of around 100 to 150 feet. Long range cordless phones are able to function effectively in very large areas. Their use is primarily in remote areas where phone service is unavailable. They work on high frequency radio waves and crystal clear sound is guaranteed for a radius of 60 to 70 miles from the base unit. Use of long distance cordless phones virtually eliminates the need of a cellular phone and saves users from airtime charges and additional service fees. While purchasing a long distance cordless phone it is advisable to scrutinize the various functions available with it. Car Washes in Louisiana Hire Illegal Aliens

Saturday, October 13th, 2007

By Lance Winslow Many of the car washes in Louisiana do hire illegal immigrants and illegal aliens. It is unfortunate if you consider the huge 200-Billion Dollar spending bill after Hurricane Katrina to see the business owners and their lack of caring for the rest of the citizens of the United States of America. They all know good and well what they are doing is illegal, as you are not allowed to even hire an illegal alien or illegal immigrant in this nation. If all the business owners stopped hiring these illegal immigrants and illegal aliens many people believe that the problem would taper off and decline, that is to say eventually go away and become a non-issue. Already illegal immigrants and illegal aliens make up over 33% of the violent criminals in the Federal Prison System and over 38% in the Arizona State Prison System. In the State of California illegal immigrants and illegal aliens due to anchor babies have closed 80 hospitals. And to think how many of these illegal aliens got their start stealing quarters out of your console at the local car wash? If Louisiana really wants to clean up the debris there and clean up their act maybe they ought to start by cleaning up the car washes of illegal immigrants and illegal aliens. Why not take that border patrol van into the car wash for a little window cleaning and quick rinse? And drive that clean van fully loaded back to Mexico. Consider all this in 2006. “Lance Winslow” - Online Think Tank forum board. Birdwatching; A Free And Fascinating Pastime For All

Friday, October 12th, 2007

By Jackie Gee My first experience of deliberate birdwatching took place in Richmond Great Park. The time; 1966, the occasion; one of the first dates with my (now) husband. There I was, all dressed up and ready to knock him out with my drop dead gorgeousness (memory plays strange tricks as you get older!) and there he was, luring me into the undergrowth of the park, hissing to me to keep my head down. No, it wasn’t this bird’s feathers he was after observing, but a green woodpecker that he had spotted. It must have been love on my part because, although I don’t remember seeing the flash of emerald, I do remember getting my trendy high boots covered in mud. And that was the first of many times that I have shared the joys of avian observation with my spouse. He had been a committed twitcher from an early age. As a boy, a family friend had dragged him along to many birdwatching expeditions, from sighting a large wader (a ruff) on a one time sewage farm, soon to become the fifth terminal at Heathrow, to happy weekends spent observing the many migrants arriving on the Norfolk coast from Europe. Birdwatching is one nature pursuit that just about anybody can get something out of, and most of us have ‘twitched’ at some time in our lives. What child hasn’t fed the ducks, or pigeons? That’s the good thing about birds. They are so accessible. You can see them almost everywhere at any time of the day. And you can hear them; blackbirds and nightingales have been immortalised in song and verse. The ubiquitous gull can be heard far inland; pigeons coo vociferously in our city centres; rooks squawk as they arrive at their evening roosts and starlings chatter as they gather in flocks on our roofs, telegraph wires and urban trees. No other wild animal group is so easy to see and admire. The skill of flying, and therefore the ability to get out of the way if needs must, has been a boon for the latent birdwatcher in all of us. That birdwatching foray with my husband to be was the first of many enjoyable observations of our feathered friends. Some I will never forget. Standing on top of the Preseli hills in Wales and listening to the liquid bubbling coming from the throats of hundreds of curlews in the gathering dusk of the evening; sadly not a common occurrence nowadays. Or that magic afternoon, cycling along a country road with my young son and counting 32 larks as they rose skywards from the fields either side of us. Another sight, rarer now than it used to be, was the spectacle of thousands of starlings darkening the sky and turning as one with a whoosh of wings, above the field next to our first home; We’ve watched puffins and guillemots on Skomer island off the coast of West Wales and along the seashore we have seen countless flocks of all sorts of waders. And how to describe the thrill of seeing two peregrine falcons screeching over a deceased pigeon that they were devouring at the base of a sea cliff; or watching red kites circling lazily in the thermals above the hills of mid Wales. And there are always more. I’m so glad I’ve seen at least one dipper, incongruously running along a stream bed, underwater feeding. Another stream frequenter, the heron, can also be sighted, perched in prehistoric stance, in the middle of a field. What is it doing? I am assured by that fount of all bird knowledge (my husband) that it’s on the lookout for a tasty mole; and sometimes, if we went out on a Summer night, we would be lucky enough to catch sight of a little owl, staring down at us from his high perch on a telegraph pole. We called one of our houses Hafod Y Wennol, Welsh for summer house of the swallows, because, in it’s previous life as a cow parlour, the swallows had swooped in and made their little mud nests on it’s walls. We felt so guilty at evicting them from their home, especially after such a long and perilous journey from their Winter habitat somewhere in Africa. But swallow poo is prolific and not to be tolerated indoors; and they did have a garage and another barn to breed in. For many years they were a significant part of our summer; the sighting of the first arrival was always noted. Their twittering and swooping round the farmyard a never ending source of enjoyment; their gathering on the telephone wire and subsequent departure a gloomy time, heralding as it did the approaching winter. And at our next home, a tall Edwardian town house, we had the amazing luck to be the Summer residence to a flock of swifts, whose ariel acrobatics, as they screamed past our windows, would have put the Red Devils to shame. We never tired of watching as they swooped and dived after insects, banking at the last second when it seemed they must collide with the house wall. It was better than television! We have been lucky enough to live in a beautiful part of the country where birdlife is prolific and constant. But town dwellers have opportunities too. In any urban garden a wide variety of town birds can be seen; especially with a little bit of encouragement. Introduce a nut feeder and a bird table and, abracadabra, in an amazingly short space of time there will be blue tits, robins, blackbirds, sparrows and various finches; if you’re lucky there might be the odd nuthatch. The tiny wren might hop about underneath, picking up any titbits and, if, they all suddenly scatter for no apparent reason, look up to the skies and search for the shape of a sparrowhawk, on the lookout for an unwary prey. Yes, bird watching is something that you can do all through your life; from a window or outdoors. Introduce your children to this fascinating world and they will have a pleasure that will last and last; it’s free entertainment and an excellent grounding in learning how to appreciate some of the wonderful world around us. A Cherished Gift For Each Bridesmaid

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

By Kathleen Terrana Many brides choose to give their bridesmaids a gift of the jewelry each wears to match their dresses. And others choose engravable gifts such as picture frames, compacts, trinket, jewelry and keepsake boxes, charm bracelets and key chains. These are all fine gifts and many times there is no charge for monogramming the items for each bridesmaid. An inexpensive and more personal gift that the bride can give is to take candid shots of each attendant and arrange them in a photo album or personalized scrapbook. With the availability of one-use cameras, the bride can tuck one of these into her purse, and take photos while shopping for gowns and shoes, at the bridal shower, rehearsal dinner and bachelorette party. She should include individual pictures, group shots, as well as pictures of herself with each bridesmaid. Photos that are candid and funny will work better than those that are posed. At Michaels, The Arts and Crafts Store, 12 x 12 stylized scrapbook pages range from .59 to .99 cents each. Or they can be purchased in 25 sheet packs of white or pastel cardstock for $5.99. Smaller sized packs come in 4 x 6 , 6 x 6, and 5 x 7 inches. Cut outs can be purchased such as doves, flowers, hearts, wedding cakes, bells, churches, white satin gloves, and champagne bottles and glasses. Banners and alphabet packs are also available to customize the scrapbook pages. The good thing about the bride working on this project, is that by working on a special gift for her dear friends, she will be helping to relieve stress from the frenzy of wedding planning. She will have fun assembling the photos and scrapbooking supplies, and give each friend a cherished keepsake of the wedding. Anger: The Unexpected Emotion After Gastric Bypass Surgery

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

By Kaye Bailey The words I read made me furious. There it was, in black and white, the story of a fussy baby who was spoon fed ice cream to keep her quiet. I was reading a baby book and that baby was me! I was indignant how dare my parents comfort me at six months old with ice cream? No wonder I grew up to be a fat adult addicted to high fat sugary sweets. I was a fat baby and I became a fat child, a fat teen and a fat adult. All because at six months the solution for my tears was ice cream. When I read dusky smelling baby book it unleashed an anger that had been building since the good doctor cut up my God-given stomach and deprived me of every comfort Id ever known. My gastric bypass made me skinny, but it also made me angry. I was mad as hell, and I was blaming them my parents for twenty-five years of obesity. Twenty-five years of suffering and self-loathing. Twenty-five years of social inferiority because I was fat. It was their fault! A normally docile person, I was livid. I was enraged. I was heartbroken. There is so much pain associated with obesity, particularly for children and adolescents, how dare they they who gave me life put me in harms way by making me fat? How dare they? I harbored my anger for weeks festering it in my mind until it took on a life of its own. I was no longer in control of my thoughts because I had surrendered to the anger. Here I should have been at the most exciting moment of my adult life for I had become the new me, yet I was a bitter angry unhappy thin person. Most gastric bypass patients experience anger as they lose weight. I understand now that this phase of anger is common for the recovering morbidly obese person. Most of our anger is about how obesity caused us to be self-loathing: about learning to hate ourselves since childhood because of our obesity. We are angry for blaming ourselves for lack of control that caused obesity, we are angry at others who blamed us. We are angry at the people who have belittled us for being fat, then belittled us as weak for taking the easy way out surgery to lose weight. We are angry at doctors whove told us to lose weight, but didnt tell us how. We are angry at the media that bombards us with pictures of rail thin skeleton models sending the message that unhealthy anorexic behavior is fashionable and obesity is loathsome. That is the same media that advertises thin people joyously eating heaping portions of unhealthy processed fat laden food. We are angry at employers who fail to promote the obese and who make us work twice as hard to prove that obese does not equal stupid. We are angry at the diet industry that has taken billions of our dollars when we fell for their promise of instant weight loss guaranteed. We are angry at every person who said, You have such a pretty face, if you could just lose the weight. We are angry at a society that deems it politically incorrect to insult people for their race, religion or sexual preference, but leaves the field wide open to defame and humiliate the obese. The recovering obese are very angry. And finally, after years of stuffing angry feelings inside, the anger erupts when we lose weight and discover our new selves. And that makes us angry too! Why did we have to lose weight in order to allow ourselves to be angry? We are entitled to be angry. As a class of people we are subject to the most tolerated form of socially accepted bigotry: it is in our home and social lives, in the workplace, in our leisure activities. We live in a society where half the people are obese half of those morbidly obese yet that same society condemns the obese as todays untouchables. We are entitled to be angry. Anger leads us down a path of blaming. We want to blame someone or something for our suffering. Its true, not one single fat person has chosen to be fat. Obesity is not a choice. We want to blame someone else because for most of our lives we have blamed ourselves: thats what fat people learn to do we hate ourselves for a choice we did not make. But a new movement in psychology, the science of happiness, says there is a better way. This practice says, sure, bad things happen to good people. The science of happiness calls people to muster their inner resilience and accept bad things happen as a matter of fact and then move forward. The science of happiness has us focus on our strengths. According to Dr. Dan Baker, a leader in the science of happiness and author of What Happy People Know: How the New Science of Happiness Can Change Your Life for the Better: focusing on our strengths works because it feels better than focusing on weakness. It creates energy, which is always necessary for transformation. Also, its self-sustaining and full of rewards. When I began to understand that my obesity was the result of converging anthropic change the industrial revolution that my parents did not intend for me be fat, and that Id done the best thing I could for my health by having surgery then my anger subsided. Some weight loss patients have managed their anger by becoming advocates. Advocates for the fair treatment of the obese, for fair treatment in the workplace and improved insurance coverage for obesity treatment. I know some people who are sport and life coaches for children to teach them about nutrition and physical activity. But most importantly, I know WLS patients who are advocates in their own homes. They are affecting healthy change for the next generation. These brave people are teaching their children to eat nutritionally and exercise and avoid the foods and habits that result in obesity. They are the advocates who will keep the next generation off the surgical table and free from the torments of growing up obese. Advocates do not have time for anger. They will step in where genetics cant keep pace and independently, one-by-one, fight the epidemic of obesity. Is it easy to let the anger go? Not all the time. I still get very angry when I see overweight adults mindlessly feeding their children things that will make them fat. Sometimes I just want to shake them and say, Do you know what you are doing to that child? Do you know what kind of life you are leading her toward? Im still looking for a response to this anger but the wounds of childhood obesity do not easily heal. Maybe thats a good thing. Maybe that will be the motivation it takes to leave a better, healthier legacy for future generations with or without weight loss surgery.
